Sid Meier's Civilization II (1996) is the second title in the famed Civilization franchise. It marked the map shift from flat grid to isometric, introduced unit 'health bars' and technically borders (though they were not represented on the map), and many other improvements.
Unfortunately, the game is no longer for sale from regular outlets, and being an early 16-bit Windows title, it can be a handful to get working on modern systems. In this playthough, I'm running the game on a virtual box in backwards compatability mode. I could get the game and video clips to run just fine, but the music, which was essentially an audio CD track on the original discs, will not play naturally. I've thus attempted to merge the soundtrack in post-processing. Some sound glitches might result due to this.
This will primarily be a 'nostalgia' run, set to Warlord difficulty - it's been nearly two decades since this game's heyday, and I don't recall all the tricks. I also wanted to see as many of the wonder movies as at all possible, hence the easier difficulty.
