Let's Play Space Quest V, Part 7
Hello everyone and welcome to episode seven of my Space Quest V Let's Play!
In the last episode, captain Roger Wilco and crew had just arrived by Thrakus, following the SCS Goliath. The Goliath was not visible, but a beacon signal emanated from the planet, so Roger beamed down to investigate. The signal came from one of the Goliath's escape pods. The pod was empty, except for a familiar frock. Roger brought it with him. Searching around the area, he was suddenly assaulted by Beatrice. Their struggle left them hanging from a ledge. To make matters worse, some pukoid mutants appeared and started shooting at them. Bea was hit! But with the help of the frock, a quick call to the Eureka for transportation, and some timing, Roger and Bea managed to escape.
Bea apologized for attacking Roger, thinking he was a mutant. But now, she was hit with the terrible ooze, which would turn her into a mutant as well. She asked Roger to put her in cryogenic suspension, to delay the transformation. Roger felt hopeless about the whole situation. The Goliath is a formidable ship, and with the crew mutated, they could easily wreak havoc to Starcon itself. Bea calmed him, showing the Goliath's warp distributor cap. So the Goliath was slowed to regular speed, giving Roger time to perhaps solve all this. He then placed Bea into hibernation and returned to the bridge.
Back in the captain's chair, the Goliath suddenly appeared and attacked. The Eureka was vastly inferior in firepower, so Roger ordered an evasive action into the nearby asteroid field. Cliffy went outside in an EVA suit to repair some damage caused by the Goliath. It all went well until he was hit and lost his grip on the Eureka, drifting off into space. Roger hurried down to the EVA pod and gave chase. Some nice manoeuvering later they were both back safely.
Now they needed to form a plan to solve this mess. The crew suggested to find the source of the ooze. Roger remembered the canister he saw at Klorox II. Primordial Soup from a company called Genetix, complete with coordinates. The Eureka set its course there.
And that's where we join them today...
Thank you for watching, I'll be back soon with the finale!
