37Here's where we run into real trouble -- this game's autosave feature can be summed up in a word: nonexistent. Combine that with how much the game wants to crash and we've got real trouble. It does save creatures to my own database every time I make a change, but we lose a truckload of progress in this episode and it won't be the last time it happens. This means that I'll be editing the crap out of it, and the playthrough will be hopping around a little bit from here on out.
I can, in fact, skip previously experienced stages on a new save to get back to where I was sooner, but I am punished for doing so; the terror scream ability I had is just one of many earned powers that I will not have access to for skipping stages. Another poor game-design decision that effectively makes my run harder only because the game broke.
Oh well, let's finish this animal stage, damn it! Final revisions of the creature will occur before we enter tribal stage in the next update.
