Having had a mole removed and not quite being good with sitting for a long time yet,
Tifa drops out of the stream early, so Jack gets to play another game he loves and she... doesn't.
DO A BARREL ROLL! Or keep spamming them like a maniac when the difficulty ramps up in Star Fox 64 - or Lylat Wars, if you're nasty.
Star Fox 64 basically reboots the story of the franchise. Not that it ever needed much of one, especially with only one previous game released. You are Fox McCloud, leader of the mercenary group Star Fox, together with your team. There's Peppy Hare, your mentor-ish character who knew your dad, Slippy Toad who invents things and Falco Lombardi, the best character in the Smash Bros. games.
And General Pepper needs you all to bring peace to the Lylat system when the evil Andross attacks with his evil army! So we all hop into our nifty Arwings and show Andross who's boss. Which is easier or harder, thanks to the branching route you get to unlock. If you manage to pull off certain things like some cool flying maneuvers or enough enemies defeated in some levels, your campaign towards Venom, Andross headquarters, takes a different path. Plus, it's the only way to get to the true ending!
Star Fox 64 also introduced the Rumble Pack to the N64 back when it launched 1997 - it was a novelty back then!
The game is still a ton of fun, but it does look it's age. Enhancements through emulation can fix some of that - and thankfully, Liam Coleman has made a Widescreen Patch, bringing the game to a much nicer looking 16:9 ratio. Good enough of a reason to give it a playthrough!
