Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II was released in 1997 for Windows PC. It was developed and published by LucasArts. It is the second of four games in the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight franchise that also includes Dark Forces, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.

Kyle Katarn returns to save the galaxy. While he earned a little bit of a break after being a hero of the Rebellion, evil forces are looking to retake the galaxy in the wake of the fall of the Empire as the New Republic tries to oust the Imperial Remnant and establish a government.

One group looking to rise from the ashes of the Empire is a group of Dark Jedi led by Jerec. He is looking for the Valley of the Jedi, a Force nexus that holds untold power within. If Jerec finds the Valley and unleashes its power, it will mean certain doom for the New Republic. Armed only with his Bryar blaster pistol and the lightsaber of Jedi Qu Rahn, Kyle must unlock all of his power and potential to save the galaxy....
