In this video I give a small sample of the time consuming Seed Planting side-quest!

-------- Seed Planting ----------

The entire point of this side-quest is to obtain a 黄金の種 "Gold Seed" so we can trade it to one of the NPCs at Cherik for Lv.8 Slot Equipment. You plant/grow seeds at Leane Village by speaking to Aunt Maggie at the house in the middle of the town. When you talk to her, select the first option to begin planting a seed. If you dont have one, she'll give you a ポムポムの種 PomPom seed to start off....you dont want that.

Once you go outside her house, you'll automatically plant the seed. Inspecting the mound will open up some options:

* Give it water
* Give Fertilizer
* Do nothing

If you select the "Give Fertilizer" option, then you can select the different type of fertilizers.

* 赤 Red
* 青 Blue
* 黄 Yellow
* 白 White

Depending on the fertilizers that you use, the seed will produce different items

-------- Growing Instructions ----------

To grow the Golden Seed from scratch you'll need to head to Cherik, speak with the general store lady, select the 2nd option and she'll give you the ラナケアルの種 Lanakear Seed. This is what you need! not the crappy PomPom seed that Aunt Maggie gives you. Now head back to Leane Village, speak with Aunt Maggie, select the 1st option and your seed will be planted in the small field.

Now your goal for this is to grow the seed to produce another kind of seed and then grow that one to produce a different kind and yadayada and so forth until finally you produce the Gold seed. The process of growing seeds to produce another seed....we'll call these cycles from now on and to complete a cycle you need to go through 3 phases.

This is how the phases will go:

1st Phase - You plant the seed. Inspect the mound and give it a fertilizer. After that's done, get a stopwatch and open up your menu. Have the menu stay onscreen for 9 whole minutes (5 minutes in the PSP version) so that way your seed wont dry.

2nd Phase - After the first 9 minutes are up, close the menu and you'll see that your seed is starting to grow. Inspect the sapling and give it another fertilizer. Open your menu and again wait for another 9 minutes (5 more minutes in PSP version).

3rd Phase - After those 9 minutes are done, close the menu and now you'll see your sapling has turned into a plant! Inspect it and give it another fertilizer one last time. Open your menu and now this time we'll wait for 27 minutes (10 minutes in the PSP version).

Results - After that's done, close your menu and you'll see your plant has produced fruit. Inspect it to claim your reward and thus the process begins anew. Overall time for 1 cycle = 45 minutes. You must do this 4 more times in order to get the Golden Seed.

{Note- Not all phases require fertilizers. For these phases you just want to inspect the plant and choose the 3rd option...which is nothing, then open up your menu and wait for the allotted amount of time required.}

{Note- Phase 3 always requires you to wait for 27 minutes. Phases 1 and 2 will require to wait 9 minutes.}

-------- From Lanakear to Gold ----------

Now I will list the cycles for the seeds and what fertilizers to use between each phase. Also, make sure you save your game every time you produce a seed. You dont want any slip-ups resetting all of your hard work!

Phase 1 - Use the 赤 Red Fertilizer
Phase 2 - Use the 青 Blue Fertilizer
Phase 3 - Dont give it anything
Results - You'll get the ドルゲニアの種 Dorgenia Seed!

Phase 1 - Use the 黄 Yellow Fertilizer
Phase 2 - Use the 白 White Fertilizer
Phase 3 - Dont give it anything
Results - You'll get the ペンペンの種 PenPen Seed!

Phase 1 - Use the 赤 Red Fertilizer
Phase 2 - Use the 白 White Fertilizer
Phase 3 - Use the 青 Blue Fertilizer
Results - You'll get the オリオラの種 Oriola Seed!

{ Cycle 4 - オリオラの種 Oriola Seed }
Phase 1 - Dont give it anything
Phase 2 - Use the 赤 Red Fertilizer
Phase 3 - Use the 黄 Yellow Fertilizer
Results - You'll get the チャラックの種 Charak Seed!

{ Cycle 5 - チャラックの種 Charak Seed }
Phase 1 - Use the 白 White Fertilizer
Phase 2 - Use the 青 Blue Fertilizer
Phase 3 - Use the 黄 Yellow Fertilizer
Results - You'll finally get the 黄金の種 Golden Seed!

Now return to the lady who gave you the Lanakear Seed in Cherik and this time select the 1st option to trade the seed for a Lv.8 Slot equipment. Like the trading card side-quest the type of slot you'll get from her is dependent on the onscreen character and the overall play time.
