Movie video games are mostly looked down upon, mostly because the developers don't get much time to finish the game before its release date, that mostly falls around the time the movie is released.

This pc release also did not get much of a good finish, with controls that needed some fine tuning and the optimization of the game itself is not very well done as you can see sometimes in the video. The hand to hand combat resembles that of Batman Arkham Asylum. But misses the nice flow to it. But they did a good job on the webslinging again, something the developers for a Spider-Man game mostly seem to concentrate on and forget they have do finetune the rest of the game.

It's a sandbox style game, but next to the same beat up a few easy criminals in a robbery,car chase of shooting, there is not much else to do except bringing some infected civilians to a improvised hospital (story involves a virus being spread after the movie story). There are some 700 Spider-Man comic pages spread around the city you can collect, if you collect a good amount of it, you unlock comic books you can read in the main menu, from the first Spider-Man comic to the later comics. Pretty nifty if you are a Spidey fan, but its not something to really keep you going. And as you can see in the video, Spidey's suit get's allot of battle damage throughout the game, the only way to fix his suit is to go to his apartment, you can also unlock costumes, from the black suit to alternate universe costumes!
