The Legend Of Zelda was originally released in Japan on February 21, 1986 on the Famicom Disk System. The game was released in the United States of America in August 22, 1987 on the Nintend Entertainment system (NES), and a European release was on November 27, 1987 on the NES. After beating the game, you have the option to play what is called, a "Second Quest" in which all of the dungeons and their locations have changed along with different item placements. This can be easily achieved without beating the game by registering one's name as "ZELDA" when starting a new quest.
A sequal to The Legend Of Zelda was made, called Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link, and gives players a different perspective and gameplay from the original title. Zelda II continues the storyline from the ending of The Legend Of Zelda on the NES, but the gameplay is no longer top down, rather side scroller.
