Let's Play The Legend of Zelda : Skyward Sword (Hero Mode) - Part 100 - There & Back Again (Finale)
In this part we say our goodbyes to some of the friends we've made over this long journey, and then watch the credits roll.
Also, in case you can't stand to actually sit through me jumping the shark during the credits, then you can just read this text based review :D
Skyward Sword is a fantastic game. I've come to realize one thing over the course of this LP, and that is that Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game, and even one of my favorite games of all time.
The plot (as far as Zelda games go) is great. The plot twists are fun when they happen, but I wish that the plot was evenly spread out in the game rather than "Plot - 3 Dungeons - Plot - 3 Dungeons - Plot" (like in Twilight Princess)
The graphics are (obviously) gorgeous. The new characters introduced (Groose and Ghirahim mainly) are great, and are interesting to watch all throughout the game.
Speaking of Ghirahim, the boss fights in this game are a blast. I enjoyed all of them, except for The Imprisoned, mainly because of his shockwave attacks, and repetitive patterns for each incarnation.
Now for the gameplay. Skyloft is a fantastic HUB World. Even though it never changes, it never becomes boring to run around.
As for the areas of the game, I love the approach they took to make each area leading up to a dungeon, more like a dungeon itself. And the game manages to spice up each area when you return (e.g the Song of the Hero quests) so it never becomes tedious (at least in my opinion)
And last but not least, the music. Finally in a Zelda game we have a (mostly) orchestral soundtrack! It is just as beautiful as everyone was hoping it to be. Boss fights are epic, important cutscenes are intense, and even the non orchestral music stands out (Skyloft is a great example).
This game is a masterpiece. I thought that this LP might drag a bit, being my first 20+ hour playthrough, but I had a blast making it!
And I didn't have a single recording issue throughout the whole thing! 2012 is off to a great start!
I hope you enjoyed the LP ;D
