Beguiled by the ice queen, the tiny barbarian rushes further and further into peril to try and catch up with her, even as she tries to kill him directly. Her magic is strong but his sword arm is stronger, refusing to let the undead denizens and hungry wolves claim his life as he rushes in pursuit. Even as the chase continues however, little does he know that the frosty enchantress is leading him into a trap so deadly that only the strongest, faster and luckiest could have a hope of surviving, a fight against a foe that the tiny barbarian will find strangely familiar...

Can he overcome the odds and shatter the ice cold malice of his frosty adversary? Or will he fall to the avalanche of peril, to be forgotten in the tundra? Let's find out.

I greatly enjoyed the first two episodes of Tiny Barbarian DX when I played them a number of years ago, but did I like the third and final episode as much as the first two? The answer is that I enjoyed them even more. The episodes were great fun, adding onto an already fantastic experience with even more of what I loved originally as well as new things I hadn't expected. The third and final episode were far harder but that makes sense when you consider that you must beat the first two outings beforehand, building up the difficulty as you grow better at the game.

But that's just talking about the second half of the game. Tiny Barbarian DX was a game I bought shortly after its release when it only had a single episode and I'm glad I did, for it's become one of my favourite platformers. The graphical style is outstanding, capturing the world and the people that live in it with its unique style. The music is all top notch, each track from this game in my playlist of top rated music and never leaving. Jeff Ball has really outdone himself with the soundtrack that ties the whole game together wonderfully. The controls are tight and responsive and the challenges put before you build gradually, providing rewarding gameplay. Collectibles are present for those who seek them out though they never detract from the action. The lives system is exceptionally forgiving, allowing you to make mistkes and learn from them without punishing you too severely and without destracting from the challenge.

If I had any complaints it'd be that the very final boss was a little too challenging, though that is likely down to my lack of skill then the way the boss was put together. I also would've preferred that there wasn't the large period of silence while episode 3 and 4 were being worked on. At times it made me think that the rest of the game wouldn't be released and while I'm glad it was, better commuinication would've gone a long way.

That said both of those are minor complaints and I can say with certainty that I'll be playing this again at a future date, perhaps going through as the Tiny Barbarina to see how much different that is. If I'd record that remains to be seen but it's a game I don't think I'll ever forget. If you like platformers I encourage you to give this a game to try yourself and experience the joy I had in playing something so awesome.

So what's next? One things for sure, I won't be playing another platformer for a little while as they're not my forte. I also feel the tiny barbarian and tiny barbarina deserve a little time to relax and rest after saving the world, so I think it's time to return to a franchise I have a lot of past experience with but to a game within it that I've never really given a chance. It's time to delve far, far back into the past with my next let's play to the start of a saga that is near and dear to my heart that had humble but awesomely unusual beginnings.

See you next let's play!

Recorded right after the video where I defeated the final boss of the game, my voice was strained and somewhat hoarse at this point. Apologies if I am a little quieter because of that, but over two hours of failed attempts at the final boss certainly took a lot out of my voice.
