There's been a murder most foul in the castle which means one of two things; there's either a traitor among those in the castle who was swayed by the Guardian's offer (or working with him all along) or a horrible creature emerged from the undercastle of the gem and killed Lady Tory. As the sole emphatic person in the castle however she'd be able to sense if someone felt guilty or had a desire to kill which for me makes me think that someone in the castle did it.

Nobody before suspected that a murderer was in their midst, now that they do everyone will be far more vigilant. More worryingly some people are going to start playing the blame game but the Avatar isn't going to be one of them; we need to collect evidence, make measures to try ensure this doesn't happen again and carry on with our exploration of other worlds. After all, the murderer will have made mistakes no matter how small and they've nowhere to run to... except the undercastle and the worlds linked to the gems.

Come to think of it the murderer has loads of places to flee to if need be. Let's hope we figure out who it is before that happens.
