We rescue Across Rivers just in time, and he joins the rest of our merry bunch in unlocking the book - which is actually called the Wishing Tome. The game then makes a long story short, but this was indeed used to make the Twenty-one immortal a long time ago. Somehow this tells us where the brand originates, so we set off for the finale - though the trip is long enough that Edith can be talked into betraying us after one who line of dialogue. I wish I was kidding, that kind of comes out of nowhere.

That said, this wraps up Weird West! I summarize my thoughts at the end, but the short version is I really, *really* like the gameplay, setting, and overall mood, and just think the last chapter comes off as pretty rushed. The ideas for the ending are solid, it just doesn't give them time to breathe and doesn't explain as much as I would have liked. Still, it's an overall great game, I can easily recommend it, and I'm sure I'll pick up the irons for another go at some point. More than I can say about a lot of titles, I assure you. Anyway, next game is Amnesia: The Bunker, so see you next time!

Also the reward for the box quest was lame - so much that I wonder if it was a bug or something. Just toss the bloody thing, it ain't worth the hassle.
