Let’s Play World’s End Club (Blind) - Episode 9: The Problem with Yetis
We find out that Pochi was kidnapped by a yeti. However, despite Chuko just gaining her power, she can’t fight it due to it being out of range. As such, the task of defeating the creature and saving Pochi falls squarely on Reycho’s shoulders in the form of throwing barrels at it until it dies. Then, immediately after rescuing Pochi, Yuki gets kidnapped by a bigger yeti, which, after getting through more enemies, results in an even more infuriating version of the previous yeti fight which was in of itself a pain in the ass.
The idea of both yeti fights are simple and straightforward- dodge the barrels that the yetis throw your way until an opening presents itself, then throw a barrel at them three times to win. However, that’s easier said than done for two reasons: Reycho’s wonky throwing controls and the fact that all attacks (with the exception of a few minor ones) kill the playable character in one hit.
When it comes to Reycho’s throwing controls, you have to actually experience them first-hand to know just how bad they can be. Essentially, at least 80% of the time Reycho’s throw ability is used to deal with enemies, yet the game doesn’t have a lock-on option, instead forcing the player to manually aim the object at the enemy with an arrow that will actually make the player turn around if they aim it too high (you’ll see this instance several times later on in the playthrough when I’m trying to aim at something right above Reycho, only to turn around and throw it in the opposite direction).
As such, when fighting as Reycho, you need to take your time and carefully aim your projectile at the enemy. However, these fights don’t really offer that luxury due to the yetis constantly throwing insta-kill barrels your way, with the second yeti also rolling them at you on the ground, forcing you to either time Reycho’s slow dropping animation to block the barrel or jumping over it with the iffy jumping controls and contending with the weird hitbox for the barrels.
