Official Game Description:
XCOM 2 is a turn-based tactics video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux in February 2016, and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2016. XCOM 2 is the sequel to 2012's reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Taking place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown, it follows the continuity that XCOM, a military organization trying to fight off an alien invasion, has lost the war, and is now a resistance force against their occupation of Earth.

Stordyr's Statement:
This is my 4th or 5th attempt do make this series. Some of these have been aborted due to my stupidity some because of technical issues.
Xcom2 is a great. I totally enjoy the storyline and the storytelling overall. The varieties in vanilla when it comes to missions are sufficient, the technical possibilities are great. Downside is, that the game still has some bugs and we're not seeming to get any more fixes for this. That's a little bit frustrating especially when you read forum/reddit threads with hundreds of people mentioning the same bug.

Xcom REALLY becomes a great game with the capabilities to use mods, allowing you to enable more classes, more perks, more aliens, more weapons and with Longwar 2 finally more missions.

Because THAT is the big downtime of Xcom 2. It's over way too soon.

Overall: Turn Based Strategy games are not dead. Xcom 2 is living proof of this. I even hooked up Mrs. Stordyr ;)

Stordyr Gaming?
Stordyr derives from the two swedish words:
Stor /stuːr/ translates to "big"
Dyr /dyːr/ translates to "animal"
I am actually not pronouncing it correctly ;)

Who is Stordyr?
Stordyr is a totally cool guy from Rostock, Germany, now residing in the middle of Nowhere in Switzerland.
He is a long time gamer, having started with in the early 90s on a green screen PC with games like Prehistoric, Lemmings and similar stuff.
He has been a nerd before it became sexy, doing Pen & Paper Roleplaying Games since 1995 and has never stopped doing this (including all social implications of the time :P).
Now, that he is married to the geek woman of his life, father to a beautiful gamer child and working in corporate IT, he uses all his time to relax the brain, play, learn and enjoy himself with fun stuff.
