This time we are playing Ziggurat 2.

TDLR. Strong recomendation if you are into roguelites and fantasy.

One of the very few FPS games I actually like because of atmosphere and the mechanics. Quite a gem of a game.


Long version :)

Ziggurat 2 is a bit longer than 1 year on Steam. Not super fresh but it is one of the few shooters I actually like. By its existence alone, both strange and unlikely, contrary to my taste, it deserved a spot to be featured on the channel.

We will play at least 10 or so episodes and we will see it from there. Maybe a new episode every couple of days or so.


This one I tried like a year ago. It was in early access then... and well it is still in early access. I would not mind to much if they decided it is finished as it has plenty of content. I will not complain either if they add more. Usually more is better. This is a good example of early access game in my book. It was good when it was first released on Steam, it is even better now and I expect it to continue on that path.

Ziggurat 2 is a Shooter kind of game. Kinda. Instead of guns and rifles you are a Wizard and you are shooting bolts and all kinds of other godies from you Wands, Staffs, SpellBooks and Alchemical Weapons. It is also a roguelite. If you like repeatable content and unlockable bonuses you will like that part of this game. There is plenty to unlock. You start with only 2 available but there are more different Wizards with different active and passive abilities, bunch of weapons as well as good amount of passive bonuses waiting to be unlocked. There are also various perks you gain as you level up during your runs. You start with like 40 in the pool that you can get on level up but more are unlocked and added to the pool as you progress trough the content.

The game itself is very competent. Well in my opinion anway. Gamepace is fast ( or I am just getting old?? :D) and AI is compentent and actually leading their shoots. Levels are proceduraly generated so you will never see the same one twice. Order in which you get perks and weapons is also randomized. Each play is a brand new experience. There is plenty different boss enemies that will wait for you at the end of each Floor to try to ruin your day. They have different abilities you will have to learn before you can properly handle them. Oh and also light platforming puzzles/traps. And maybe some other things that flew over my head or I did not see yet. Oh and progression curency and in level currency and shops and altars and forges and...

Well I think you get the picture. I like the game. Maybe you will as well.
