Lets Playthrough Thief 2 X – Part 1
7A wonderful series of fan made missions - this is 'Thief 2 – Shadows of the Metal Age'. We play a new protagonist who will sneak, stab, and silently (or not so silently in my case) make her way through caves, cities, and cemeteries.
I can't say much about the story without giving away the plot but I can talk about some of the differences in the game compared to the classic Thief 2 game. The levels are extremely well done. I am using the Thief 2 X HD texture pack to make it look jaw-dropping beautiful. It introduces new arrow types via a transformation crystal. It has a few levels that are forced-'ghosting' of sorts. It adds some old unit types that were missing from the Thief 2 proper. Over all – a wonderful, extremely well done series of missions/maps/ideas all come together to give us a fantastic Thief experience.
As before my talking will be kept to a minimum to keep the atmosphere of the game what it is – creepy/stealthy/silent. I will talk occasionally during the mission to point out why I may be waiting, and I'll also read any/all of the notes/books we come across.
