Let’s Replay Covert Action – The Ariane Files [Case 7A]
Some people may wonder why I'm not increasing the difficulty as I go along to show off what that's like. The short answer is that the one I'm on right now is just the right balance of challenge for me while also not making things overwhelming. The easiest difficulty truly is that and it even includes a unique case that is so straightforward that you can go for the mastermind right away and then quickly arrest everyone else. Higher difficulties, however, make things incredibly difficult and they do it by altering how effective your skill increases at the start are.
The higher the difficulty you're on, the more training you need to put into a skill to make it any easier. At the highest, having something at good is the same as putting no training into it at all; wiretapping is as complicated as it is for Ariane, cryptography has no spaces between the words, the enemies in combat encounters are fast on the draw and very accurate and driving is… well, it's driving. There's also jailbreaks where the organisations involved in the plot attempt to break out people they need for their scheme and trust me, they're such a pain that you're better off not seeing them.
