Part of my plan to stream some "old school" style RPGs; Escape from the Pit is a re-make of Exile: Escape From the Pit, which was released in 1995. This version was released in 2011 by Spiderweb Software.

I am playing this game un-modded and with a custom soundtrack playing separately in the background, made up of tracks from the Thief and Fallout games, among others.

In this session I... quit the game. I believe I gave this game a good shot, with 20+ hours of game play. The game is just too difficult, for me, and is getting less and less fun as a result. Therefore, I've decided not to continue. The game's insistence that every side quest be done (which I succeeded in doing with very few exceptions - and they're called side quests for a reason), before any progress can be made, killed my enjoyment of it. I'm sure there are people enjoy this 'you-must-be-X-level-to-proceed' kind of gameplay, but I just find it punishing, so have decided to stop.
Thanks to all who joined me in these sessions. I don't take a decision like this lightly, but I simply wasn't having enough fun to continue this.
Time to try something different.
