As I've said before, there's a pattern to this game. You move in patterns of resource gathering, training, and assault. As you move further through the game, the resource gathering becomes lengthier and lengthier because upgrades begin to cost more and more. This really draws out the game and can feel like you're doing a lot of repetitive grinding, because you are. But then, I'm not sure how to reproduce the feeling of a grinding war against the dungeon in any other way.
