Let's Talk: Youtube's Copyright Disaster Discussion - Networks, Content ID Matching, Fair Use, etc.
Check further in the description for detailed timestamps.
I don't normally make rant vlogs, but some changes to MCNs (multi channel networks) over the past week have highlighted how terribly broken Youtube's automated content ID matching system is. I tried to go into as much detail as possible describing all factors involved. This system has resulted in massive numbers of copyright matches on people's videos all across Youtube and it's threatening the hobbies and livelihoods of these individuals. To make matters worse, people can copyright match content that is not even theirs. Let's players, critics and reviewers, speed runners, walkthrough creators, interviewers - anyone who makes anything even tangentially related to games or any other form of media is at risk, whether that works falls under fair use or not, if this system remains as is. This system is disgraceful and must be fixed.
