Let's Try Alchemist Penguin (PC)
3Welcome to my Let's Try of Alchemist Penguin, a top-down 2D survival shooter for Windows, developed by Foot in the Box. It's currently available for purchase at Itch.io, and is trying to get onto Steam Greenlight.
It has the same base trappings of most 2D survival shooters. Several hordes of enemies, many types of weapons, and several levels or maps. Here, you can level up your weapons and abilities by killing dinosaurs. Moreover, you can purchase more from the shops using the coins dropped from fallen foes. Depending on how well you do in the stages and complete challenges, you'll earn PP (progress points) which can be used to unlock new game modes.
Overall, it can get quite challenging fast, especially once 100 dinos are killed. The graphics and music can be a bit blind though, and having to replay stages to farm for EXP and money can get repetitive. For $1.99 though, it's a pretty good deal in my book. I can see getting at least 2-4 hours of fun-time from this title.
