Galaxy Pass Station is what you get if you crossed Papers, Please with literally any kind of office management sim game (sadly a title escapes me). You are tasked with running a space station for Earth, now that it has been introduced to the rest of the Galaxy. You have to set up amenities, keep them tidy, turn a profit (because one can not even escape capitalism in space anymore), and make sure that everyone coming to the station is who they say they are.
The game has an interrogation system very similar to Papers, Please, except that the complications come with your own drive for greater profits. In order to get more money/research materials, you have to get new alien species to come to the planet. However in doing so you have to learn the quirks for checking their identification. In addition to that you can add your own red tape that complicates things further, but does earn you even more profits. It's an interesting angle and I like it.
Beyond that there is a whole station management layer, wherein you have to set up rooms in the station, install facilities to them for travelers to use, and manage the various ratios for things like sound and cleanliness. You also have to make sure you have supplies running to where they need to be using your lil' robots.
Beyond all of THAT is a research tree to advance everything, random events, people aiming to bribe you, and so much more.
I only played 7 days, and this is all I ran into. I am sure there is even more depth to be found. If you're into the smash-up of genres this game offers, and appreciate the visual style the games going with (I loved it, myself) then have a look at Galaxy Pass Station.
