The more I played this game, the more I realized it was just Dark Souls with magic BUT this is only just the prequel and it's completely free - so I can't really complain TOO hard. I do think not having checkpoints is rather punishing but also very true to the soulslike experience! Also, can I let you in on a little secret? I've never been a fan of magic. Don't judge me while you cowardly wave a wand so you can launch death beams from 3 football stadiums away. Like bffr dude. Now, does this game only have magic characters? Could not say because it isn't released yet...
