Level: Max - Committing Regicide! - Day 19.5 - Final Trial - Let's Fail at Pikmin! (Commentary)
0It's High Noon, we are ready to take down the Final Trial: Emperor Bulblax, this guy is nothing to scoff at, the first time I fought him I had to spend an entire day and 200 Pikmin to kill him, but we have bombs which I didn't use the first time, so I'll tell you the easy way. For you people looking for a challenge, don't use bombs. But since we are going for winning, we will use bombs.
The Bulblax has 1 weak spot: it's Face. Don't aim for it's tongue or mouth or else it's instant death. It has 3 attacks.
The first attack is Lick, you know it'll be using this attack when it is slobbering ridiculously (Imagine a Lickitung, but grosser and not as cool) it will look at you, open it's mouth, then lick in a roughly 90 degree area, if a Pikmin gets hit by it it is instant death. This is the best (For the Hardcore) time to land Pikmin onto its head though.
The next attack is Shake, it'll simply shake your Pikmin off, then jump up and slam down, so when it starts shaking call your Pikmin back or else they might get crushed.
The next attack, Body Slam (This guy is seriously a Lickitung!) has 2 forms, Continuous or Single. What the Emperor does is stop slobbering, then his eyes get really wide and he leaps forward in an attempt to land on top of you. He can reach a good ways across the field, so you have to keep moving the moment he stops slobbering. The other form is sometimes he'll just continuously jump up and down, but his distant that he can jump isn't as long, so once again just keep moving and you'll be fine.
Now you might be wondering how the Bombs are used, it's a little tricky, but you can stun the Emperor. When you think he is going to use Lick, throw a Bomb towards him, when he opens his mouth the Yellow Pikmin will throw the bomb into his mouth and that will stun him and give you plenty of time to throw Pikmin, I don't suggest using Bombs, just throw the Red/Blue/Not-Bomb-Yellows on it's head to rack up massive damage. But keep in mind you will have to repeat this trick a lot! If the Emperor manages to eat your Bomb-Pikmin do not fret, while it is sad that a life has been lost the Bomb will still stun him, although I think he recovers from the stunning faster...Sometimes if you completely miss your Pikmin will throw bomb at it's feet, don't try it. It's not worth it, and as far as I can tell it does little to no damage.
After a while, the High Emperor Bulblax will fall, and grant you...the Secret Safe! Go team! 95 Pikmin total can carry it, but since I don't know how to get Yellow Pikmin to drop their Bombs they can't help, so that's a bit of an issue. Hurry and carry it back home!
Unfortunately, I didn't quite get it home, oh well! Congratulations! We got all 30 Treasures! We rock!
