[READ DESCRIPTION FOR SOLUTION SPOILERS] A long-ass diagnostics session on a system that had been upgraded from an i5 Sandy Bridge to an i7 Ivy Bridge. Diagnostics solutions are rarely this convoluted - the first ten minutes of this video will usually get you to your solution - but hopefully this provides a good insight into the systematic mind-set you need to find the more obscure faults.
SPOILERS: BIOS Upgrade to add Ivy Bridge support was needed, but for some crazy reason the two furthest RAM slots don't work with an Ivy Bridge CPU fitted, so the RAM had to be moved to the nearest two slots.
