The National WWII Museum will open the highly anticipated Liberation Pavilion, its final permanent exhibit hall, and dedicate the Col. Battle Barksdale Parade Ground on November 3, 2023. Watch this ceremony live as the Museum celebrates one of the most significant milestones in its history.

Liberation Pavilion explores the end of World War II, the Holocaust, the immediate postwar years, and the war’s continuing impact today. The three-story Pavilion houses two floors of exhibit space featuring personal experiences, iconic imagery, impactful artifacts, and immersive settings, as well as a third-floor theater offering audiences a brand-new cinematic experience.

Liberation Pavilion reflects a key part of the Museum’s mission—what World War II means today. The Pavilion helps visitors understand the relevance and significance of World War II by highlighting the costs of victory and the lasting legacies of the war in the United States and throughout the world. Designed to be the capstone experience for Museum visitors, Liberation Pavilion provides opportunities to contemplate the joys, costs, and meaning of liberation and freedom.
