Part 4. WAAAAHH!!!!! What an emotional roller coaster this one is. The gameplay is simple. It plays out like a typical Telltale styled adventure game. I'm actually not sure what to call this, modern point and click? Walking adventure simulator? Whatever. The gimmick here is the main protagonist, Max, has the ability to rewind time. So you essentially have the power of save scumming. Pretty cool. You can retry pivotal key moments to your satisfaction with responses and actions. It's cool that you can see all choices play out and then decide which is to your liking. It's a neat approach, but I do like having consequences to your choices and them being permanent. They still are, you just get to see some reactions immediate reactions to your choices. There are collectibles strewn about and done through Max's love of photography. It's pretty neat. The main focus here is the story and it does take center stage. I loved it. The writing is absolutely wonderful and it really drives home some truly sincere and heartbreaking moments. It even made me question some of my own personal choices and how I would react versus the character. It even brought up some interesting moral and ethical dilemmas. The game has some really good length too. I thought this was going to to be pretty quick and it was a meaty story. I am trying to avoid big spoilers here so I am intentionally being vague with this. The music choices are pretty solid too, pulling heavily from the indie scene. I truly loved this game and it hit the ball out of the park. I also managed to find all the collectibles, so that was cool. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
