History, miles of trails, and a national park right across the street! Let's just add the bonus of the nearby town of Santa Claus with its Holiday World, Splashin' Safari, and Santa Claus Post Office and Museum.
Lincoln State Park provides acres of recreation and history which spotlights the boyhood home of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Right across the street is the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial where you can see what life was like back in Abraham Lincoln's day and walk the very woods that he walked.
What we love about Lincoln State Park:
1. Scenic - two lakes, hilly woods, miles of park roads
2. History - Historic sites along the trails and Lincoln's boyhood home across the street.
3. Lots of recreation - hiking, fishing, boat rentals, swim beach, picnicking
4. Santa Claus, Indiana nearby
5. Adequate camp space
6. Efficient check in procedures on a busy Friday afternoon!
What we didn't love about Lincoln State Park:
1. Verizon service was unstable
2. Shared water and in some cases spigots were far away
