Lindsey Stirling's original music video:

An amazing piano cover that inspired me to put this together:

Although the title of the video says "cover", I consider this more of a re-imagining, really, since a couple of motifs from Lindsey Stirling's original version are absent, and I have also added in a few of my own.
It's all recorded from an electric piano - all instrument sounds are synthesised. I only play piano and saxophone, so I have great respect for violin players as talented as Lindsey.
She's just got so many awesome songs: I found that they kept spiralling around my head and causing me to hum them, so I decided to figure out the chords and play around with one of the tunes myself. My version is by no means accurate, though (in terms of the chords) - I actually compiled this in C minor, and transposed it to match her original key.

And I apologise about the video - if I had a half-decent video camera, I'd make one of those split-screen videos to show all the different parts being played. But I don't, so you can watch a Windows Media Player visualisation instead. ;)

Finally, the recording itself was made using a handful of separate layers and overlayed to form the complete version.
I've made the MP3 and MIDI files available on my MediaFire account if you want to see how it's all put together:

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed throwing all the parts together.

Oh, and if people like this kinda thing (random instruments thrown together to cover a song), I'll likely do more in the future. Then again, I'll likely do more anyway, as I quite enjoy making them.
