When the download is complete you must run the installer as super user (you are able to install by double clicking but copy and pasting terminal commands will be easier)
Assuming your file is on the desktop.

cd Desktop
sudo ./ETQW-demo2-client-full.r1.x86.run


Installing full version :

Buy the cd
Download the Linux installer with the latest patch which you can find by looking for "ETQW 1.5 Full Update (Linux)" at this page http://community.enemyterritory.com/index.php?q=node/263
Insert the cd
open the terminal: (assuming the installer file is on your desktop)

cd Desktop
sudo ./ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run

if that doesnt work because you lack the permission to execute the file:
chmod u+x ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run
sudo ./ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run


if that doesn't work you (because you do not have permission to execute it) first type:
chmod u+x ETQW-client-1.5-full.x86.run
and then do the line with sudo again
