Linux on MAC | What Distro should you use?
281Each Linux distro has it's own purpose. I would divide those in those groups:
1) Specific tools set. Kali Linux is an example of penetration testing set

2) Beautiful distros such as Elementary. I initially tried Linux a couple of years ago and while I liked it, but it felt like visual copy of Mac OS in many ways.

3) Distros intended to run on very low specs hardware. Such example would be an antiX Linux. Another purpose of this distro is also recovering boot records.

4) General purpose distros such as Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Manjaro

My computer: Macbook Pro, 2014. 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD
Preferred Linux distro: Kubuntu 18.04 LTS

0:00 - Introduction
3:39 - Kali Linux
6:50 - antiX Linux
9:29 - elementary OS
13:40 - Kubuntu on external SSD
15:40 - Conclusions
But the main thing to realize when it comes to using those distros is that there is no ideal one-fits-all OS and you start with the distro that you personally like, adjust it as you like and go from there.
And it's a Linux, it's perfectly fine to switch distros when you want. In the world of Linux it's possible to keep user data on a separate partition and only reinstall the necessary apps, preserving all the settings.
