Playing Playstation games on Linux using ePSXe :
Final Fantasy IX

Final Fantasy IX released in 2000 was the last Final Fantasy published on the Sony Playstation.
Unlike previous opus, this one features non-human main characters and a more fantasy oriented environment; The overall game feels like a return to Final Fantasy's first root.

The gameplay as (again) heavily changed :
- Team of 4 characters
- Each character got a different class and unique ability
- Abilities are unlocked by equipping items (To use the ability with equipping the item the character must learn the ability by gaining enough ability)
- Most spells can be either single or multi target
- The new "Transe" system replaces the limit break (transe is activated automatically when the character suffered enough damage)

This video was recorded with 1.9.25, but if you want to try with a newer epsxe version on Archlinux 64Bit system (and have plugin working) you'll have to install epsxe from archlinux AUR (and have multilib repository)
Download epsxe PKGBUILD from AUR:
curl -O https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/snapshot/epsxe.tar.gz
tar zxvf epsxe.tar.gz
cd epsxe
Edit the PKGBUILD file :
Change the line to arch=('any')
CARCH="i686" makepkg -s
pacman -U epsxe-2.0.5-4-any.pkg.tar.xz
Install lib32-libcurl-compat
Install lib32-libtinfo
and symlink libtinfo.so.6 to libtinfo.so.5
cd /usr/lib32/
ln -s /usr/lib32/libtinfo.so.6 libtinfo.so.5
Finally, put your plugins in your homedir ~/.epsxe/plugins
