Final Fantasy VII
Released in 1997 on sony playstation (and computers) it was the first Final Fantasy episode in 3D.
In this opus, the job system was completely removed and replaced by "materia". The player need to find materia and equip them in a weapon/armor socket which will change character stats and give them abilities. So the character customisation is based on equiping, combining and leveling materias.
