Well for those confused, it was a stupid trend from the 2010s that was the result of people applying lip balm (the most common one used being Burt’s Bees) to their eyelids to achieve a perceived high or sense of alertness.

What people got instead was eye pain among other dangers such as the risk of infections and inflammation of the skin in areas around the eyelids.

But now… It’s made a comeback and it’s started buzzing around the internet again as a result of being shared on social media (and yes, that includes Tik Tok of all things).

There’s a reason why it’s called lip balm, people. It’s meant to be used on lips, not on other parts of the body such as eyes.
