Barbara Butcher, seasoned forensic investigator and author of 'What the Dead Know' goes Beyond the Mic with Sean Dillon. Dive into her 5500 death scene investigations and discover the power of listening to the tales the dead have to tell.
Welcome Barbara:
We’re joined on the Starline by a woman whose life as a forensic and medicolegal death investigator and the investigation of 5500 death scenes and 680 homicides turned into “What the Dead Know”. Her middle initial should be F, but you’ll have to read the book to findout why. We welcome Barbara Butcher.

Barbara, let’s go Beyond the Mic. Your life was one happenstance to another. How did your life as a death investigator helping others help you?

“If you lie even one time to a family, everything else you say becomes suspect. What you have is your word, and it should be impeccable.” How difficult was being the representative for families who had lost someone for you?

In your book you tell a story of a ME who tells you “When you leave here each day, surround yourself with things of beauty. Enjoy nature and art and food and music and love. Just do it, and don’t skip a day. Seriously.” What was the easiest part of your job and what was the hardest?
The Rockin' 8:
It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Worst crime scene smell?

2. Favorite ice cream flavor?

3. Favorite John Grisham novel?

4. Best place in Manhattan for a good burger?

5. Other than Dr. Hirsch, which person made the deepest impact on your soul?

6. What personality trait of yours gets you into trouble?

7. Best park in New York?

8. Yes or No, do you have nightmares from what you have seen in your life?
One Big Question:
“Dead men do tell tales. You just have to listen.” What’s the one thing that was the hardest for you to put into this book?

Why should people read this book?

Where can people find you online?
The Wrap:
She still has daymares, love everything but strawberry ice cream and admits her own arrogance. She wants you to read “What the Dead Know”. Barbara Butcher, thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is a Beyond the Mic short cut.
