Little MIXER plays Splatterhouse - Arcade Japanese Edition - First Full Playthrough
I have never played this game before, having only played the sequel on Sega Genesis so I didn't know much about it.
First thing I noticed, was that it was decently difficult, but not too bad at all. I like how the bosses all do different stuff, and you need to learn the patterns to do well against them. Getting through the first 4 levels was not bad.
Then came level 5, and things got WAY more difficult. The level was long with multiple paths, and I kept ending up on the worst possible ones, with a necromancer reviving ghouls over and over and I kept failing miserably. The boss also presented a big challenge, and I had to learn to be less aggressive and hit and run which eventually resulted in a win that was way too close.
Level 6 was something else. A very short level, but full of monsters in bubbles with RNG patterns. Having no way to attack diagonally or directly above me was debilitating, and I was unable to deal with this level for a long time. I felt I came close several times, but but the monster spawns at the heart kept getting me time and again. After too many tries, I finally got it.
Level 7 was very short, with a moderately difficult final boss, but honestly, levels 5 and 6 were WAY more difficult. The worst part about the final boss was RNG on the debris and hand attacks.
Overall, great game!! I had a blast playing this and spending 45 quarters in continues to beat it.
