LIVE: 6 Hours of Spa Qualifying - Le Mans Virtual Series 2022
446We are fast approaching the mid point in the Le Mans Virtual Series. Next up - the iconic Spa-Francorchamps in the Ardennes region of Belgium. The first broadcast of the weekend will be the Qualifying session at the legendary circuit, as 40 teams battle for pole. As we build-up to the all important qualifying session we also feature the latest round of the Le Mans Virtual Cup.
The Le Mans Virtual Series, hosted on the rFactor2 platform visits the 7km layout taking in famous corners such as Eau Rouge, Raidillon, Stavelot and La Source on the 4th/5th November.
The broadcast will begin with a Le Mans Virtual Series Cup race from Spa. This is a community-based championship, where anyone with rFactor 2 can qualify. The top two drivers in the championship at the end of four rounds earn a seat on the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual grid.
This will be held using a grid of identical Ligier JS P320 LMP3 cars, with qualifying already decided by an open hot-lap challenge. The race will be a 45-minute affair with the racing dramatically close and exciting!
This is then followed by the main event, Qualifying for the Le Mans Virtual Series. A 20-minute qualifying session for the GTE class is then followed by a second 20-minute session for the top-flight LMP class. Both will set the grid for tomorrow’s (5th November) six-hour race which can also be watched on the Traxion YouTube channel.
Teams on the grid include the revered manufacturer-backed names including Porsche, Alpine, Brabham, AMG, Ferrari, Ford and BMW, alongside the very best sim racing teams in the world such as reigning champions Team Redline, Romain Grosjean’s eponymous R8G, YAS Heat Veloce, Floyd Vanwall-Burst and Proton Coanda Esports.
