In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the player controls a shinobi named Wolf, tasked with protecting Kuro, the young Divine Heir, in a fantasy version of Sengoku-era Japan. Kuro's blood grants immortality, and the Ashina clan, led by Genichiro, seeks to exploit this power to save their declining nation. After being captured and losing an arm, Wolf embarks on a quest to rescue Kuro and sever his ties to immortality, facing various enemies, including Genichiro and the resurrected Isshin, while navigating a world steeped in mythology and folklore.
