๐ด [LIVE] Video tutorial edit with Blender 3d and Power Sequencer
87In this stream, you'll see how to edit a tutorial from start to finish in the Blender VSE, with the help of the Free Power Sequencer add-on. And as always, I'll share techniques and tips you can apply to any program :)
Blender 3d is the video editor behind all tutorials on GDQuest. It does have its limitations, and it's not the easiest to pick up due to the lack of tutorials. But it's by far the most stable video editor I've used.
If you're looking for a solid open source option to get started, I highly recommend it. Before, I worked with Vegas, DaVinci Resolve 12.5, tried Premiere pro, and a few inexpensive programs. They all crashed on me in the middle of projects.
Vegas would even randomly not render some video clips, leaving short black gaps in the final export. You can still see this on some old tutorials on the channel.
Why not use KDEnlive instead of Blender? We met with one of the program's developer, and they're absolutely lovely. They have a great website, tutorials... but:
1. It's still quite unstable on Windows
2. There's no API to create add-ons
3. When I got started with Blender, KDEnlive wasn't out on Windows yet
I've also customized Blender enough now that the editing workflow is quite efficient for tutorials and for me, as you'll hopefully see on stream ;)
