Players new to Armored Core often make some mistakes when attacking because they don't understand how the lock on system works. To their credit it isn't really explained in the game or the manuals. This video is a resource to teach proper aiming technique, specifically for:
Armored Core 2
Armored Core 2 Another Age
Armored Core 3
Armored Core Silent Line
Armored Core Nexus
Armored Core Ninebreaker
Armored Core Last Raven

The PS1 games are similar, but there are two types of weapon which behave differently from each other. The first is lead weapons which act as described in this video. The second is lag weapons, which will never calculate full lead as they aim behind their target for some reason. These weapons are difficult to hit with and should be avoided by new players (and this is also one of the reasons why I suggest that people interested in trying AC games skip PS1 at first).
