A serviceable team fortress clone. I dig the style to an extent but the game is just really there to showcase the engine, which is the game's only real great element. It just seems like there is too much going on in the game at any given time. I tried my best to follow the story but the lack of subtitles during the cutscenes made that real difficult. I still have issues with the core conflict between the two factions. Still the visuals and audio are at least enjoyable.

EDF: Insect Armageddon 360 T7
A great fun simple game. The visuals and audio get the job done. The gamplay is just good old fashion fun. The leveling system still requires a grind but that's the charm of the game. I really enjoy the three player co-op but would have liked up to six. One of the biggest problems with the game is its severe lack of amount and variety of the levels compared to its predecessors. EDFIA is 15 levels all city, where the last one had 30+ with nests, large beach and country side levels along with the city levels. The previous game just seemed for epic.

Earth Defense Force 2017* 360 T7 2007
Earth Defense Force 2017, greatest game released this year? Not really but I love this game to death. It has become like my new ChromeHounds obsession. The game is so very very basic. Its actual a remake of Earth Defense Force 2017, that was released in Japan as part of the Simple 2000 Series, which are games that are simple and cost very little to make and our sold cheap. So this game is basically a polished version of a cheap game. The game visuals are very simple but have certain charm about them. There are really about 4 different maps, but they are so big that you really don't notice. The game is basically about aliens invading Earth. The enemies consist of giant ants, spiders, robots, and gun ships. The game plays out and you just go around killing enemies and collecting powerups. Little touches like the games destructible environments and over the top voice acting really give the game some character. The games longevity comes from all the different weapons you can collect and the five different difficulties. The main thing that really surprised me about this game is that it had co-op with no restrictions. Basically two people can play and the progress you make and difficulty stays the same. This really helps on some with some of the harder missions later in the game. I think the real reason I enjoy this game so much is because of its campy 1950 sci-fi vibe. If you own a 360 then do yourself a favor and pick this game up, its not the best but the fun you get out of it will be well worth it.~Visuals: 7- A polished PS2 port~Audio: 6- Campy Voice acting, pulls off the B movie feel~Game Play: 8- Sometimes simples translates to great~Story: 7- Destroy All Aliens, really really simple but enduring
