Visuals and audio ok. The forced time frame just isn't my thing, too restrictive. I would of like chapter based time flow for replayabilty. Gameplay feels a little chunky and slow, doesn't feel likes it's been refined from the first game. Item selection is also very cumbersome and not very helpful amid the chaos, should have been fixed from the first game. Single long item selection bar should be replaced with broken up system that separates weapons, health, and passive items. Weapon breaks and the game goes to the next items like a book and reads it, or to drink you were saving and uses it, very frustrating. Co-op feels gimped because if you got to the map it locks both players, have to use the menu map because of no mini map or waypoint system. You also have to stay in the same load area. Speaking of there are loading became an issue for me. I started plotting courses based on how many load screens I would have to go through from point A to B. Weapon creation was a extremely poor substitute for the fun of photo taking. The story was ok, a little predictable but not too campy.

Horrible fixed camera, could be done a lot better. Basic hack and slash controls, the usual annoying QTEs. Broken up chapter/level design, focused on mulit playthroughs. Pacing it very broken up with tons of cutaways and such, no real feel for the flow of the older games. Poor level design and direction in my opinion. No real big castle to explore, or any real exploration at all in the game. Comes down to this not be a traditional Castlevania at all, only in name. Story serves as a sort of reboot prequel to all Castlevania games, meh.
