Longplay a Indie | Virginia (2016) If David Lynch would direct X-files , it would look like this
If David Lynch would direct X-files , it would look like this ... a virtual cgi movie then a game ... that is slammed by gamers for its visual presentation *faceplam*
Its a Story about an agent, that has to work for internal affairs to check on a Agent ... a game that's starts like X-files ... but now you play Scully and the more you play it ... it slowly changes genres ... and you land in Twin Peaks (even the menu music wants to point that out ...lulz ) to solve a missing person case ... but the more you delve into the case you find... the whole town has secrets ... from the army that does some experiments , to the priest that cheats with other women ... and then it all lands in Mulholland Drive territory with a dash of Blue Velvet... and Fear X
They nailed the visual presentation and music score for this game ... that simple put, its a love letter to David Lynch art and visual presentation ... if you ask me about this virtual game... its breathtaking ... one in a life time experience ... a new genre ... a Virtual Movie ... people judge this as a game with no interactivity (or limited one) and scream THIS IS SHIT , AVOID THIS SHIT ...
Its the same situation that "Dear Esther" had... a genre making game that was the FIRST walking sim ... when you followed 3 paths of three suicidal people and heard their stories ... who will be saved depended on what path did you took, on this visually breathtaking island ...
People now fucking fear, that IF this will have a commercial success , they will see more Products like this one... more virtual movies like this ... like it happened with Dear Esther ... that created the path for other games (Firewatch anyone)
