Quick Look | Aragami (2016) A game with wasted potential
Wanted to like this game that used ... "inspiration" from The Darkness comics, but as you play as this shadow ninja ... this game just feels too stiff and broken , in mechanics and controls ...
Controls that glue you, to an invisible wall with a clipping issue ,
Animations that just stun lock you (and others) making you fail at the most simplest tasks ,
Ai that cheats and uses this "stun locking at animations" to kill you (you cannot stop any asset animation that is playing),
Did i mention they can shoot you tough walls .. even when they cannot see you ,
Animation glitches ,
Animation of assets that dont play each time ... making you watch like one model is locked and then just dies 15:20 (even more in) ,
Story that tried to translate itself by 3 mediums (motion comic , popups that lock you in one place ... and then enemies kill you , when you are stuck in those pop ups *faceplam* , and text) ,
Everything that pulls you out of the game is awful ... so why didn't they pick the best method of presentation that keeps you in game all the time ...is beyond me ,
NO map or a mini map ... there is a follow this marker thing , but it breaks the camera , that suddenly is locked to it ... and then you die,
No block ... or better put character abilities are given in the wrong order ... yes you can unlock them if you have enough scrolls ... but the main ones are given in the wrong order ... better to have them all in one go and then teach you how to use them ... then disable them crippling you at the start ... adding them one by one in the wrong order or needfulness
Also no real combat mechanics then stealth kill ... or later ones if you endure the brokenness to unlock them ...
Can yet another patch fix this ... maybe , but from my side ... it was not the thing that i wanted ...
