Lords of Dread Raid Guide - Normal/Heroic Lords of Dread Sepulcher of the First Ones Boss Guide
Lords of Dread Normal and Lords of Dread Heroic guide! Lords of Dread is a raid boss in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid of Shadowlands. This is the famed 'Among Us' boss fight in WoW. You fight a pair of dreadlords, Mal'ganis and Kintessa, and each one has an 'ultimate' ability that they use at 100 energy. Mal'ganis will start the fight at 50 energy, so his ultimate will occur first. Apologies for how late this video is!
This Lords of Dread boss guide will show you the Lords of Dread abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Lords of Dread fight. Mythic Lords of Dread has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Lords of Dread guide. Footage of Lords of Dread for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid releases on live servers starting March 1st.
The key to Lords of Dread in Phase One is managing the Carrion Cloud green ring DoTs and keeping the add under control. The green rings can be passed to new players if they start to hurt too badly, and they can be cleansed by standing in the purple halo of a player with Fearful Trepidation. There's no need to run all the way into the purple ring and touch the player with it- just sit in the ring and it'll get cleansed. Everyone needs to dodge the green pools that happen after carrion cleanses to avoid picking it back up.
The add can be CCed indefinitely (such as with a Hunter Trap) on both Normal and Heroic difficulty, but that can get tricky as the fight continues and more and more of them spawn. Our raid ended up doing any that spawned near the boss normally (let it cast to full then kick and kill it) and using CC to disable adds that spawned far away or in awkward locations.
For Unto Darkness, use all DPS cooldowns, stack up and rotate healer cooldowns to get everybody through the heavy damage of the mechanic. For Infiltration of Dread ('among us') spread out and call out the pair of players with dreadlords on their back if you see them. A pair of players called out by 3+ people is the correct answer and needs to be killed within 30 seconds to safely end Kintessa's mechanic.
Aside from that, stand off to the side to bait the Slumbering Shadows pools and be careful with the green and purple rings. You've got this!
