Lords of the Fallen Part 1
0I recently started into Lords of the Fallen, a soulslike with the unique hook of exploring overlapping worlds of the living and the dead. This is pretty much a blind start to our adventure, learning as we go, soulslikes tend to rhyme anyhow. I found myself really enjoying the combat pace and some of the mechanics, though it takes a bit to adjust to the controls for ranged combat and magic.
There's a lot of system and a lot of lore in this game. Overall, it heavily incentivizes exploration with a large number of secret items and lore-related pickups. From the start it's clear that there are branching paths and untrustworthy sorts, plenty of fuel for multiple playthroughs.
The game has gotten multiple patches even while I'm playing, tweaking dodge & cancel frames for smoother combat. Feels pretty good until you get smacked and lose 80% of your health. Still figuring out a few tricks.
