LoZ FSA - Value Manipulation in 6-1
This does not save time or anything, rather it's some code analyzing I guess.
Or philosophy about triggers and in game stuff mechanics that are usually not accessible to the player.
To continue to the screen to the top, you have to kill the mummies on TV and GBA screen.
However, when you kill them only on TV screen, and then get OoB off the right portal and exit the scren to the right (very important),
the enemy counter that activates the trigger to remove the barrier gets confused.
I am not exactly sure why this happens, because doing OoB without killing them on TV screen does nothing.
Case 1:
So, since you activated a trigger that normaly can only be activated after killing the mummies, the game thinks that we actually have killed the mummies.
After reentering the screen, the barrier disappears
and we can access the upper screen. As soon as we enter the said screen (with the 4 shadow links), the counter gets deactivated.
I interpret it that way because killing the mummies now does not respawn the barrier (this happens in case 2).
So thats case 1, deactivating the trigger.
Case 2 (1:18) [Reloaded stage]:
I once again leave to the right, but when I reenter the screen, I kill one of the mummies and the barrier just respawns.
From that I intepret that the counter was set to a fixed value(the one that makes the barrier despawn), but by killing an enemy I reactivated the counter and changed the value by -1 (or +1), so it does not match up with the value for deactivating the barrier.
Hence the barrier respawns.
Case 3 (2:00) [Reloaded stage]:
I leave the screen by going up. Normally you would expect a result similar to case 1 since we entered the next screen that does not activate the void out trigger.
However, I am stuck up there so I go right and then void out.
As you can see, the barrier is still there.
Case 4
Do as in case 1 but then move to the left on the screen with the 4 links.
Not entirely sure about the results.
When you reenter the screen with the mummies, it might depend on where you leave.
Not sure though about this one.
I hope I didnt mix anything up, it's kinda confusing I guess.
Feel free to test it out yourself!
