Lubuntu 20.04 LTS LXQT boot speed comparison HDD vs SSD on an old HP notebook
I was just upgrading the HDD of my old laptop to an SSD and decided to film it just for the comparison.
The timer is not accurate but I just used a simple tool to show a brief comparison. But still you can tell the difference.
This is an old HP notebook, G7000 with an Intel Pentium dual CPU on 1.73GHz and 2 GB ddr2 Ram. It had Windows Vista pre-installed when bought and later has been upgraded to windows 7.
Windows 7 was too much for it and later got worst in a point that it couldn't play a single youtube video without lagging. performance was too poor in any general.
A couple years ago I decided to clean it, and install Lubuntu and I totally revived it.
Until today I am using it for internet browsing and watching youtube live and Twitch tv and performs really well for this purpose.
This video is not a comparison between operating systems or different disk brands. Only shows a brief comparison between HDD and SSD technology and created as a fun project.
