Huh, y'know, I should've thought about this before I got started with Lumines. (Too late to worry about that!) At any rate, I've located a brief instructional demonstration that occurs if you leave the title screen sitting alone for long enough.

I suppose the reason why I didn't find it before was because I had been under the impression that the title screen would only lead to self-playing demos of various skins and no instruction... which it does, every time after the first time and going on for I have no idea how long thereafter, but this one will be the one that pops up the very first time after launching the game. The other thing is that I don't seem to be able to find any means of accessing it in-game, as there's no menu options for accessing anything instructional on demand.

Not too much of this should seem alien to you if you happened to follow along with the Challenge Mode run as it happened, but it's always nice to have some clarification, even if the wording is a little vague and terse at times.

Still, there might be some things you wouldn't typically run across or recognize just by jumping straight into things... at least I sure didn't until now, and I've been playing for awhile, but I have mentioned that I don't actually watch the score or the other non-gameplay elements on the screen, even when I'm watching.

The two that stand out to me are the single color bonus (clearing out one of the two colors entirely, which isn't as easy as it might sound) and the nature of the bonus multiplier, which says to me that I'll need to keep in mind that I want to make clears of four at a time as often as possible as the most "basic" building blocks of my panel destruction methodology.

Anyway, I would not be so cruel as to give you something like this after all the Lumines action has ended, so rest assured that there's to be a (brief) spree of new Lumines on the way to follow in the coming days... and then what follows that, I'll have to decide before I run out of backlog, hopefully.

Incidentally, this instructional demo is always played against the sixth Challenge Mode skin, Square Dance.
