The part starts in The Black Dragon Cave, and you only go through about half of the dungeon on the first visit (it's not too big combined even).

Start by making your way to the SE corner, grabbing the Holy Clothes on the way before the corner, and then to the NE corner and through the door.

Make your way to the SW corner and then to the NW corner and through the door.

On the final floor keep making your way due East until the only option is to go South. Here you'll find Dyne's Sword, the second best weapon for Alex and more importantly the Hero's Crest.

Head out and heal up.

==============================================================

There's quite the trek to the next town from Cadin - at least compared to most towns.
Head South to the orange lake and West around it. You'll find some narrower land, head East across it.
You'll come across a normal coloured lake, head north around it and then SE, hugging the mountain. You'll find the town of Talon.

You'll hear that the people of Burg are working (as slaves) in the Talon Mines.

The mines don't have any treasures worth grabbing, so ignore other routes, there's even larger open rooms to the sides which I assume are there just to make it look mining has happened.

Make your way to the SE corner, but take the second West path and follow it along to the SW corner. Take the door North of here (ignore the two doors before it).

In here make your way to the NE corner and enter the door here.
In this new room head to the SE corner and straight West until you have to either go slightly North and then West or North. Head North all the way and then East when you have no choice but to head East. Enter the door in the NE section here.

In this next section head straight South, and take the 2nd split East before continuing all the way South.
Then head all the way West and then North.

You'll find Alex's parents straight north in the big open room.

They'll explain about how Dyne gave them Nall and Luna to look after.
And you'll carry on your journey.

You'll find a lot of split paths here. Take the second Western most one and enter the door in the NE section. Follow the path along and enter two doors on the way (there's no splits).

Once you're in the room with splits head East and take the third South path. All the way to the South edge, and then head all the way West. Enter the biggish room and head North. Heal before approaching the Guard.

You'll fight him and minions and then a Dragon Tank back to back.
The Guard is pretty weak, and whilst the Dragon Tank is weak to magic, I was still doing over 200/round with Alex and Kyle each.

The Guard lets you pass, and promises to free everyone in the mines.
Leave via the door to the North and then NW to Marke.
Heal up at Althena's Shrine as usual.

===========================================================

In Marke you'll learn more about Ghaleon and Dyne and importantly can continue the quest by talking to the Elder in the NW corner.

Head into the shrine and pick up the items for Jessica. the Silver Claw is her best weapon.

Now you can head back into the Black Dragon Cave from here. There's only really one treasure inside worth picking up, which I'll point out. the shapes are a bit more complicated so you'll have to visualise what I say if you're not using maps.

Quite a bit bigger in here, but mostly simple. Head to the NW corner and through the door, now do a U shape to reach the next door (which you can see from the start). Now you'll start in the NE or a roughly UnU shape (imagine the n is connected to the Us like a snake). So make your way to the NW of it.

The shape is a bit more complicated in the next room head SW until you hit a vertical wall on the West side. Follow it south and East, taking the second North split. Follow this round like an n to get the Insane Armor.

Head back around the n like shape and then make your way around the South edge of this until you hit the South wall.
Follow this West and North to the next floor.

The next floor is the last complicated(ish) one.
Head around to the NE corner and then the SE corner.
Head straight West and North at the split. Follow the weaving path until there's a N/S split. Take the North, and then the West split next.

The final floor is simple enough. Follow the path along to the boss, healing when you see smaller chunks of cave wall.
Although this was the toughest boss in the game for me, it was primarily down to me underestimating it. Had I known, Jessica would constantly have healed, with Mia chipping in too.

The Black Dragon wrecks Alex because I don't heal enough.
Kyle is able to be sustained, so buffing Alex kind of wasted his MP.

Apply healing liberally to Alex (even at full HP) and you'll be fine.
Your healing capabilities will become MUCH better soon.

Despite looking undead, somehow you "kill" the last Dragon and Ghaleon applauds you as you've killed the only thing preventing him controlling Althena.
